Obesity is excess accumulation of body fat which increase the risk of various pathological states such as hypertension, dyslipidemia and coronary heart diseases.
Hypertension and dyslipidemia are also seen in normal weight patients due to the multifunctional nature of these diseases in addition, it is possible that people with normal body weights actually have excess fat and such people have higher risks to develop hypertension or dyslipidemia. Some previous studies indicates the normal weight which is define by normal (BMI) body mass index may not be appropriate as an index for body fatness. The serpentcid fat mass (%FM) of a person with an equal value of IBM can be different by 20% or more.
Although it has been established that a high BMI value increases the risk of hypertension and dyslipidemia there pathological states are also observed among those with normal weights specifically dyslipidemia. It has been recognized that there are individuals with normal weight who are insulin-resistant and are predispose to diabetes mellitus, hypertriglyceridemia, hypertension and premature coronary heart disease. Such individuals are called metabolically obese.
Obesity is caused by excess intake of calorie foods such as sugar, low physical activities leading to low energy consumption give room to fat accumulation.
Obesity can be reduced by dieting i.e. Cutting down the calorie foods on your shopping list. You need to be mentally strong to loss fat and keep it off. if you cannot go without your daily chocolate bar then you need a rethink. You must avoid man made, processed or colourful packaged food they are probably full of sugar and junks also, you can involve in cardio exercises but i strongly recommend using cardiovascular exercises. It is better to loss fat and gain some muscle to reduce your %FM than lopsing both to retain your %FM and reduce your body metabolism thereby reducing your energy consumption which will later increase your %FM.
